About

Recuerdos LAEMOS sets out to explore radical possibilities to rebuild and transform the notion of academic conference space. While we are in the early stages of our project, we envisage it unfolding as a collective remembering of the now disbanded Latin American and European Organisation Studies (LAEMOS) conference, through oral history interviews, an evolving and travelling artistic installation, and a community digital archive.

The LAEMOS conference ran biennially 2006-2018 and was affiliated to European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) conference through administrative staff and structures as well as formal committee governance.

The photos present in the installation were gathered from community archives of LAEMOS attendees. The focal point of the installation is an altar practice dedicated to the memory of visionary energy and collaborative leadership of the late Mexican intellectual: Eduardo Ibarra Colado, LAEMOS founders. This is complemented by a soundscape, a reading nook and an interactive creative space open to all attendees to reimagine the conference space and activate a radical scholarly community.
