Drs Marcela Mandiola (Chile) and Alexandre Faria (Brazil) were closely involved with the formation and evolution of the LAEMOS conference, and Latin American OS networks. In this keynote lecture presented at the ICMS 2023 Conference, they critically reflect on the soundscape, what the vision of LAEMOS was and how we can continue to generate a decolonial praxis in conference organising.
